Science Communicator and Geneticist
Aaron Alcala is a science communicator that translates complex research topics into engaging and accessible content for broad audiences.
He creates educational media and leads outreach initiatives using strong skills in writing, photography, filmmaking, and graphic design.
As a geneticist, he also has over nine years of experience in molecular biology, genomics, and microscopy. He led research projects that modeled how genes build different parts of the embryo (such as limbs and genitalia).
Aaron Alcala is a winner of 5 outreach and teaching awards and 4 funded scientific research grants. He also co-authored 3 peer-reviewed journal publications and presented at 8 scientific conferences.
